Final Night on the Road - Gallup, New Mexico

After a last meal with Shawn's brother Mike before leaving Castle Rock, we were back on the road at around 11 am. Today, although an average-length leg of the trip, was a little more nerve-wracking then the rest. Coming through the mountains of both Colorado and New Mexico tested the Jeep more than ever, but she pulled through and we arrived in Gallup at about 8:15 pm. More delivery food and soda, but calmer cats now that they had a few days of vacation before traveling.

I didn't really take any good photos during our visit, but I did catch one blurry shot of Shawn and Mike enjoying the firepit (NOT the cause of the fire) over the weekend.

Tomorrow is it - an early start should see us crossing the border into home territory before 9 am. We'll head across the edge of the Painted Desert, through Winslow to Flagstaff, then it's a straight shot to Phoenix. We still can't believe it is all finally happening.
